Ballpark Review

Restrooms |
Cleaned every morning although it was not maintained throughout the day. Men's restroom ran out of hand soap halfway through the day. The good new is, the restrooms are close. They are located across from the concession stand which is located in the center of the four fields. |
|
Concessions |
The concessions stand is average at best. Hot dogs, microwaveable hamburgers, popcorn etc... I had my mini-cheeseburgers nuked twice and they were still cold in the middle. |
|
Field Conditions |
The playing field is decent except for the lip at the edge of the infield. It desperately needs to be trimmed down. I saw a grounder get past the infield and jump 6 to 10 feet in the air when it hit that lip. While we were there I did notice that the bases were not break away and were broken. meaning they were just sitting where 3rd base is supposed to be. |
|
Bleachers |
There are 2 fields where you can sit and watch a game and get some relief from the sun. The other two fields offer no such protection from the hot Texas sun. Not much protection from foul balls at all for the spectators on any of the fields. Although the 2 fields that did offer shade for the bleachers did also offer some protection from foul balls they are so high up they don't really offer much protection from foul balls. I saw one spectator at the concession get beaned in the head by a foul ball Bleachers are wooden landscaping timbers so bring stadium seats or your own backyard lounge chairs. |

Kids Playground |
The kids playground is between the baseball and softball fields and is a great addition to the park as a whole. It is metal with lots of great fun for the kids. The padding at the base of the play unit is wooden chips. Not much padding but no kids got hurt on it during the 2 days we were there. |
|
Parking |
The parking at some fields can sometimes be a nightmare, but it doesn't seem so here. There is plenty of parking for all on 2 sides of the fields. |
|
Location |
Probably one of the best thing about Allen Station is it's location! Very nice overnight hotels within a couple of miles with plenty of restaurants to choose from. There is a Wal-mart down the road a few exits to pick up those items you forgot. The ballpark is located just off of US 75 and very accessible. |
